WHO WE ARE
Fairview Church is a place where you can worship, fellowship, and serve the one true God, Jesus Christ. We believe in the power of connection. As a family united in faith, we love celebrating the strength that comes from our unity in Jesus. We are committed to creating a community where all are welcomed, valued, and loved.
Here at Fairview, you can discover and pursue God's purpose for you and your family. We will help you create a foundation of faith that will impact you and your family for generations to come.
We believe worship is at the heart of who we are. We are called to worship with all our hearts, minds, and strength as King David did in Psalm 34:1.
So, whether you just found us or have been with Fairview for years, you will find a place to belong here.
MINISTRY TEAM
Pastor David Rodriguez
Early Life and Family
Pastor David and his wife, Kelli, both hail from Washington State, where they were born and raised. Their paths crossed in 2012, leading to their marriage just two years later in 2014. Together, they have built a loving family with four children: David, Esther, Abygail, and Stephen.
Answering the Call to Ministry
Shortly after their wedding, Pastor David and Kelli felt a strong calling from the Lord to relocate to Washington D.C. It was during their time in the nation's capital that their journey into Pastoral leadership and Small Group ministry began to take shape. As they responded to this call and recognized the needs around them, the Lord used them to foster the growth of disciples, youth, and small groups within their community.
Serving in Alaska
In 2021, Pastor David and Kelli once again felt the Lord's guidance, prompting them to sell and donate all their possessions and move to a small town in Alaska. Embracing this new direction in faith, they were able to establish two small groups, form a ladies' group, pastor the local youth, and offer pulpit support at their church. Their primary focus was on developing young disciples, many of whom have since stepped into leadership roles within these groups.
New Beginnings in Spartanburg
In December 2024, the Lord called Pastor David and Kelli to take another leap of faith. By February 2025, they again sold and gave away all their belongings, moving to Spartanburg. Here, Pastor David accepted the role of Pastor, continuing their journey of service and leadership.
Education and Professional Background
Pastor David pursued his theological education at N.W Apostolic Bible College. In addition, he attended Le Cordon Bleu, where he earned certification as a private chef.
Pastor Eddie Phelps
Background and Early Years
Pastor Eddie was born and raised in Spartanburg. His deep roots in the community have contributed to his longstanding commitment to Fairview.
Service at Fairview
He and his family have been part of Fairview for over 20 years, actively participating in the church’s life and mission.
Upon the retirement of the former pastor, Pastor Eddie stepped up to serve as the congregational Lead Pastor, guiding Fairview through a period of transition with dedication and faith.
Retirement and Continued Ministry
In 2025, Pastor Eddie decided to step down from his role as Lead Pastor at Fairview, choosing to embrace retirement. Despite retiring from his leadership position, Pastor Eddie recognized that, while a man may retire, a man of God never retires from the call to minister.
Pastor Eddie continues to serve Fairview as the Associate Pastor and remains an active member of the Board of Elders, demonstrating his enduring commitment to ministry and the church community.
Youth Ministry
Christi & Jonathon Hawkins
Our Journey at Fairview
We are Jonathon and Christi Hawkins, lifelong members of Fairview. Our deep connection to this church community has shaped us from the very beginning, and we are grateful to be a part of it.
Answering the Call to Youth Ministry
In 2020, we felt a strong calling to serve in Youth Ministry. Since then, we have dedicated ourselves to working with the youth, helping them grow in faith and understanding. Our involvement in this ministry has been both meaningful and fulfilling, allowing us to make a positive impact on the next generation.
Serving Through Outreach and Church Ministries
In addition to Youth Ministry, we are passionate about serving in our outreach ministry and supporting various efforts around the church. Giving back to others and being actively involved in different ministries is something we truly enjoy.
Teaching and Living Out Christ's Love
One of the most rewarding aspects of our work is teaching about who Christ is and what He has done for us. We strive to model how to serve and love others, believing that these lessons are at the heart of our faith and purpose.
