Pastor Tim Hackett was a second year pre-law student when he was drafted into the United States Marine Corp in 1969. He served two years and was honorably discharged as a Corporal in 1971. He married his wife, Pamela Lucas, during his tenure as a Marine.
After his discharge, he and Pam moved to Nashville, TN, where he and Pam were enrolled in Free Will Baptist Bible College (Welch College).
Pastor Tim received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Bible and Pastoral Training. He also earned an Evangelical Teacher Training Certificate. He was a member of the Bunyan Society and served as class chaplain and President of the Ministerial Fellowship. Pastor Tim served as a Christian Service Leader and was the Associate Pastor at Cofer's Chapel Freewill Baptist under Pastor Eugene Waddell. Pastor Tim was one of sixteen students chosen for Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities. He graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1976.
Pastor Tim has served as an associate pastor or pastor in the following states: Wyoming, Tennessee, Arkansas, Indiana, Alabama, and South Carolina. He assisted his father-in-law, Fred Lucas, in establishing the first Free Will Baptist Church in Torrington, Wyoming.
Pastor Tim first pastored Fairview from 1984-1987. He left in 1987 to establish a church in Bloomington, Indiana for North American Ministries. In 1991, he returned to pastor Fairview and has been their pastor for 28 years.
Pastor Tim serves as the Moderator for the Beaver Creek Free Will Baptist Association.The Hackett's have three adult children and five grandchildren.
